Somatic simply means “of the body.”
Somatic healing is a body-centered approach that recognizes the connection between your physical body, nervous system, thoughts, emotions, and experiences.
Instead of focusing only on where you feel tension or discomfort, somatic work becomes curious about why your body may be holding onto it.
Through gentle bodywork, mindful awareness, breath, movement, and nervous system support, you begin to notice your body's signals and patterns—and learn new ways of responding to them.
The goal isn't to force your body to relax or “fix” what feels wrong. It's to create the conditions that allow your body to soften, regulate, and experience greater ease.
Over time, somatic practices can support greater body awareness, a calmer response to everyday stress, less habitual tension, and a deeper sense of connection with yourself.
Because sometimes feeling better begins not with doing more to your body—but with learning how to listen to it.
A safe space to slow down, reset, and reconnect.
Every session is a little different because every body is different. Rather than following a one-size-fits-all routine, your session is shaped around how you're feeling, what your body is communicating, and what you need that day.
We’ll begin with a brief check-in about how you've been feeling, any areas of discomfort or tension, and what you’d like support with.
From there, you'll get comfortable on the table and we'll begin gently. Somatic bodywork may include intentional touch, subtle movement, breath awareness, gentle stretching, rocking, holds, or other body-based techniques designed to work with your nervous system rather than forcing your body to change.
You may notice areas beginning to soften, your breathing changing, sensations shifting, or simply a feeling of becoming deeply relaxed and more present in your body.
And you’re never expected to simply “lie there while I work on you.” Somatic work is collaborative. I may occasionally invite you to notice a sensation, take a breath, make a small movement, or tell me what you're experiencing.
We'll finish by giving your body a few moments to integrate the work and checking in about what you noticed.
The goal isn't to force your body to relax. It's to give it the time, attention, and support it needs to find its own way toward greater ease.
